Blair International Horse Trials NPS Scotland Finals 26th August 2016
We took 6yr old Stallion Hools Rising High who competed in the NPS Scotland Finals, Novice M&M Small Breeds Ridden getting a 2nd place with rider Rebecca Fraser from Shetland. A brilliant achievement for his 1st season as a ridden stallion.
Massive thank you to Rebecca, Roselyn and Hannah for all the hard work and help. Thanks also to Northlink Ferries for their continued support with travel.
Orkney Agricultural Society County Show - 13th August 2016 Results - Judge Mr D Griffiths, Wales
A dreich day for the 130th Orkney County Show, but some great results achieved;
Hools Janet – 3yr old Filly – Reserve Overall Shetland Champion, Reserve Overall Horse or Pony Under 3yrs & Junior Shetland Champion, 1st 3yr old.
Hools Essie – Yearling Filly – Reserve Cup for Best 1 or 2yr old, 1st Yearling.
Hools Miss Jutland – Filly Foal – Champion Foal, 1st Filly Foal.
Hools Major High – Ridden Gelding – 2nd in Lead Rein, 4th in Young Handlers with 3yr old Layla.
Best Group of 3 & Reserve Cup for Best Pairs.

East Mainland Agricultural Society Show today,
Hools Janet 3yr old filly – 1st 3yr old, Junior Champion, Standard Overall Champion and Reserve Overall Horse Champion.
Hools Miss Jutland – Champion Foal,
Best Pairs with Hools Janet and Stocherie Pippa.
Hools Major High ridden by Layla were Best in Leading Rein Section.

The Sutherland County Agricultural Show 23rd July 2016 - Judge Mr K Adam
A beautiful Saturday at the Dornoch Links for the first time exhibiting at the show. We took 3yr old filly Hools Janet and 4yr old Strocherie Pippa.
This was Pippa’s first show with us, she was 1st in the yeld mare class.
Hools Janet was 1st in 2/3yr old filly class, Standard Shetland Champion, Overall Shetland Champion and Champion Native Pony.

Royal Highland Show, Ingliston - 23-26 June 2016 Judge Mr J Swan
Exhibiting at the Royal Highland Show for the first time, we took Hools Janet a 3yr old filly, Sired by Wells Masterclass & out of Merkisayre Poppy.
Leaving Orkney on Tuesday morning with a 1.5 hour boat journey & 6 hour drive, we arrived in Edinburgh mid afternoon. Janet travelled well and had a day to recover before the showing on Thursday.
She was 1st placed in the 2/3yr old Filly Class, then went on to be Reserve Junior Champion & Reserve Female Champion.

Orkney Riding Club Show - 18th June 2016
Hools Rising High 6yr old home bred ridden stallion at the Orkney Riding Club Show. Ridden superbly by Rebecca Fraser they achieved 1st NPS Scotland Novice M&M Small Breed Ridden(Blair Qualifier), 1st NPS Scotland Open M&M Small Breed Ridden(Blair Qualifer), 2nd Small M&M In-hand, Working Hunter (HC) clear and Working Hunter 1ft 9″.
Very proud of him as this was his first ridden show, thank you to everybody for their help and hard work, looking forward to the next show already!

Orkney Riding Club Winter Woollies Show – 13th March 2016
Hools Major High had his first outing this year at the annual Orkney Riding Club Winter Woollie Show. Handled by Orla Tait he was placed 3rd in the M&M Small breeds & 2nd in the 13.2hh & under class.
Then ridden by 3yr old Layla he was 2nd in the M&M small breeds ridden and 4th in the First Ridden/Lead Rein class.

Orkney Riding Centre presents The Orcadian Peedie HOYS Championship - 26th Sept 2015
The final show for 2015 was an very well organazied evening showing extravaganza at the Orkney Riding Centre. All entrants had won a Championship or Reserve Championship at one of the local shows throughout the year to qualify for this event. We had 5 different Shetland Ponies that qualified.
We took 5yr old homebred Stallion Hools Rising High who qualified at the Orkney Riding Club Winter Woolie Show in Febuary by winning the Reserve Overall In-Hand Championship.
He did brilliantly winning the In-hand M&M Small Breeds, Overall In-hand Champion and then going on to be Supreme Overall Champion! An amazing achievement competeing against so many differnet types of horses and riders.

This is the 1st time since 1965 that Hools has had both Overall & Reserve Champion Shetland at the County Show in the same year! My Granny Ivy Cromarty won it with 19yr old Stallion Spaniard of Marshwood with Reserve going to her 10yr old Stallion Florin.

Caithness Agricultural Society County Show - 18th July 2015 Judge - Mr K Adam
Hools Janet a two-year old filly by Wells Masterclass & out of Merkisayre Poppy, whose lines can be traced back to Judith of Hools bred by Kelly’s Grandmother Ivy Cromarty.
She was 1st prize 2/3 year old filly, Junior Overall Shetland Champion, Reserve Overall Shetland Female Champion, Reserve Shetland Standard Champion and Reserve Overall Shetland Champion.
Also shown was seven-year old Stallion Wells Reliance who was placed 2nd in the Stallion Class.

Glasgow Agricultural Society National Stallion Show 2015 - 14th March 2015
We attended this years National Stallion Show at Ingliston, taking with us 4yr old Stallion Hools Rising High & 4yr old Gelding Hools Major High. This is the 1st time we’ve been to this show – hopefully we’ll be again!
It was well organized event with Shetlands, Highlands and Clydesdale being shown.
Hools Rising High (pictured right) was placed 2nd out of 10 in the Stallion Class.
Hools Major High was 2nd in the Young Handlers Class shown by Leanne Spence.

Orkney Riding Club Winter Woollies Show – 22nd February 2015
The Orkney Riding Club held another fantastic Winter Woollie Show on Sunday. Nearly 100 entries of various horse breeds were there. We entered two 4yr old homebred ponies, Stallion Hools Rising High and Gelding, Hools Major High.
Hools Rising High was Reserve Overall In-hand Champion and got a TSR Inhand Scottish Regional Championship ticket.
Hools Major High ridden by 2yr old Layla was 3rd in the M&M Ridden & 1st in the Lead Rein/First Ridden.
This is the 4th year in a row we have received Reserve Overall In-hand Champion at this show, in 2012 Strocherie Ennya won it, in 2013 Hools Major High, 2014 Strocherie Ennya & 2015 Hools Rising High.
